Andy Brown

Born in Swinton, Manchester, in 1966, I was struck by the aviation bug after receiving an Airfix 1/72nd scale SEPECAT Jaguar for my 7th birthday gift. At 13 years of age I joined 1099 (Worsley) Squadron Air Training Corps, where I spent 10 incredible years before joining the Royal Air Force in 1989, and I remain in RAF service as a Wing Commander in NATO. I became a member of IPMS(UK) in 1993 and a member of the Executive Committee in 2020. My career, my friends and all of the most fulfilling experiences I have enjoyed in life have emerged from a love of sticking pieces of plastic together, and for that I remain incredibly grateful.
