Chris Wheeldon has recently returned to kit modelling for the first time since his teenage years, but has been a model railroader for the past 10 years or so. He joined IPMS in January 2024 to learn how to build models better but instead found himself working with one of the executive. By October he had signed up full time as secretary (!) and then in February 2025 agreed to fill the role of National Director “temporarily.”
In the real world, Chris has a background in mechanical engineering, facilities management and process improvement. Today he leads the Operational Excellence & IT teams for ET Group, an audio-visual integrator in Toronto. Colleagues have said that he’s a good listener and great proposal writer, with a passion for hearing and responding to the voice of the customer.
As for the modelling, he’s just starting to get the hang of his airbrush.
