Born in 1967, Odessa, USSR (now Ukraine). I put together my first scale models in 1975, those were Ogonyok 1/30 KV-85 and 1/87 VERO (East German) countryside cottage. Never stopped since then though never finished a model since 1994.
Education - Maritime Navigator, served with Soviet Maritime Shipping company BLASCO in capacity of 3rd Captain Mate in 1988-1992. After collapse of the USSR immigrated to the UK in 1994.
Served in the Soviet Army, 1985-1987 (conscription) in Air Defence and SpetsNaz units. Briefly fought in Afghanistan.
Started dealing with the scale models commercially in 1998 being involved with small Ukrainian scale model companies such as SIGA, MARS Figures, OLIMP Models, PROresin, Authentic Decals, Armory, Litaki and many others. At some point partially owned some of them, this helped to represent the manufacturers.
In 2011 my business partner at that time and I bought US company Copper State Models, however, due to hostile actions of the business partner I have lost my share in CSM in August 2015.
In 2021 Will Packard and I set up company DB Model Kits Ltd. (DBMK). Since then never look back but utilising my past experience and knowledge of the industry developing the DBMK and learning new technologies applicably to the plastic model kit development and production.
Married, four children and one granddaughter.
