Shane’s modelling journey began in childhood, sparked by the sight of aircraft, and anime, Gundam in particular. RAF aircraft building on the kitchen table soon followed, gunpla shortly after—two passions that have stayed firmly glued together (with far less excess cement than in the beginning).
As the years went on, modelling shifted from a pastime to a creative outlet. Bringing characters and machines to life is still what drives him, whether it’s snapping a Mecha into a dynamic pose or refining the weathering on a well‑worn RAF airframe. Somewhere along the way, he became the Gunpla and Mecha Special Interest Group leader, a role that lets him champion the genres he loves while herding enthusiastic builders with only minimal chaos.
Most of Shane’s building now happens in precious spare moments, often with his two children beside him—both already keen modellers in their own right. Watching them embrace the hobby has only strengthened his belief that inspiring the next generation isn’t optional; it’s essential.
For Shane, modelling isn’t just building kits. It’s storytelling, community, and the joy of seeing imagination take shape—one part, one panel line, and one enthusiastic new build at a time!
